Swedish Care International thanks the Queen Silvia Nursing Award Finland partner group of Folkhälsan, Hugo och Maria Winbergs Stiftelsen, Föreningen Konstsamfundet r.f., Suomen sairaanhoitajaliitto ry, Sjuksköterskeföreningen i Finland RF, Essity, Elisa, Nordnet Bank AB and People2Join for your dedication and commitment to nursing opportunities in the country. We are honored to collaborate with your organizations to highlight the valuable contributions of nurses in society.
The 2020 ceremony was held at the Swedish Embassy in Helsinki and this year was especially poignant. The WHO’s has ear-marked 2020 as the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” and it also marks the 5th Anniversary in the Queen Silvia Nursing Award in Finland. In light of the current coronavirus challenges, it further emphasizes the critical role of nurses in society.
We thank our speakers – Stefan Björkman of Konstsamfundet, Nina Hahtela of the Finnish Nurses Association, Annika von Schantz of Hugo och Maria Winbergs stiftelse and Gun Eklund of Fölkhälsan Välfärd – for contributing with your unique perspectives to the advocacy, continuous training and elevation of nurses in our communities. Special thanks again to HE Ambassador Ander Ahnlid for hosting the day’s ceremony.
