The Queen Silvia Nursing Award is a celebration of innovative ideas and solutions driven by young nursing scholars in Germany, Poland, Finland and Sweden. In this 6th year of the scholarship – and during the WHO’s most timely Year of the Nurse and Midwife – the world is sitting up to address and appreciate the enormous contribution of nurses to public health, wellbeing and care.

Find the video below highlighting Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden’s journey to St. Anna-Stift, Kroge in 2019 to celebrate the scholarship winner, Ms. Annette Löser of Chemnitz.

Says Ulrich Zerhusen, Managing Director of St. Anna-Stift and Zerhusen & Blömer, the main partner of the Queen Silvia Nursing Award in Germany – “We have a motto here for our house, a motto that the head Nun formed. She said ‘give a soul to the home and give a home to the soul.’ That means that a nursing home is more than just four walls. As a family-operated organization, we are making the effort for this to not just be words but to come through in everything that we do.”

On behalf of Swedish Care International and the Queen Silvia Nursing Award, we thank St. Anna-Stift and the Germany partner group of Malteser, SpringPflege, Fresenius Kabi, Care&Creation, Arjo and @thefabulousfranzi for your continuing dedication and commitment to lift nursing talent and nursing opportunities in the country.
